Any chance you will be running a service from Swords Manor or anywhere near Applewood village/Glen Allen??
Thanks
dave
November 16th, 2007 at 10:45 am
Yes, but not on Monday! You could bike it down to the village and park at the Pavillions.
November 16th, 2007 at 10:51 am
Your departure times are very awkward and not easy for the punter to remember, 9.59 etc
What will the buses look like? Livery also wheelchair?
November 16th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
When can we expect the Swords Manor\Glen Allen route to start?
Cheers
November 16th, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Wheres the service after 20:18? As Sickcert has asked what type of bus will you be using, and are they wheelchair friendly? Ill give you a chance though, this could be a very usefull service if you do it right. goodluck…
November 17th, 2007 at 12:12 am
You are right, the times are a bit awkward. We will work on that over the next three months or so. There’s a nice Swords Express livery on them. Wheelchair issue is dealt with elsewhere.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:15 am
Can’t give a time on the other route/route extension. There are too many things to control. It is important that you send feedback (and get feedback from other people) that you want this. Send a note to feedback@swordsexpress.com.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:19 am
On wheelchair accessibility, the fleet is currently high-spec coaches. We are working on the possibilities. We have invested quite a lot of time in this. There’s a lot more to wheelchair accessibility than buying low-floor buses.
November 18th, 2007 at 11:32 am
I wish you the best but the service wont work until you start collecting and dropping at Rivervalley, Swords Manor, Applewood etc.People will not travel to the village to get a bus when they can get a bus from their estate straight to town.
November 18th, 2007 at 11:55 am
Be sure to join the mailing list and we will let you know about new services as they become available.

November 18th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
I dont think you are offering value for money in this bus service at all.
All you are really doing with this service is putting on another bus from Swords to the City that people with Dublin Bus commuter tickets have to pay extra for.
Your only selling point is the time it takes to get from Swords to City. Well i get the 142 every day (from much the same place as your bus leaves from) through the tunnel and i can tell you, from Swords to City center takes more than the time you are quoting.
You should run this bus from Ashbourne in the mornings.
There is great demand all the way along the R125 for a regular bus to and from Swords. Ashbourne, Kilsallaghan, Rolestown, Lispopple, Applewood, Swords Manor, Swords.
Why dont you put on a service where there is a need. Where people will see value in having to shell out more money for it.
November 18th, 2007 at 3:07 pm
Congratulations for this excellent initiave and I wish you every success with the service. I would strongly support the comment from Tony that people are less likely to travel to the village centre for the service on a cold and wet winters morning. You will certainly be successful if you can reach out a little closer to the housing estates. For me I would suggest Dunnes stores on the Rathbeale Road which will fill your buses very quickly, also I would propose to extend the route over the liffey even for one stop on the Southside.
November 18th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Why no buses after 19.42 from Swords on a weeknight and 18.00 at the weekend. There are lots of people who go into town at the weekend between 7pm and 10pm. Why not run the service until at least then? I hate getting the filthy 41c into town at night because none of them are ever clean and they take forever to get into town.
November 18th, 2007 at 8:57 pm
Hi ya,
Anything to improve the transport services for the people of Swords is very welcome. But a lot of your customers have already raised this pont, so I’ll add my tuppence in!
Do you intend picking people up from their estates. I live in Boroimhe and would definitely use the service, but if I go shopping in town, I’m hardly going to get the bus to Penneys and then walk up with all the bags!!!
November 19th, 2007 at 12:33 am
I would like more peak time service around 7.20 to the city please and in the Ridgewood/Boroimhe area - huge population of well over 1000 people in Ridgewood estate alone on Forrest Road with no city bus service
November 19th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
This is potentially a brilliant service and long overdue. However, it would be great if the buses could service Rivervalley and go through Boroimhe also, this would help out a lot more people. It’s a good 20 minute walk or more to get to the main street from that end of Swords and not a nice one to have to make in the winter months.
November 19th, 2007 at 4:37 pm
This is great will your service be running from Rivervalley at any stage as it would make more sense for it to run through Rvervalley, Swords Manor, Boroimhe and would make more money by picking up more people just like the 41x. The 41x from Rivervalley at 7.35 is full by the time it gets to the shopping Centre In Rivervalley so your service is very much needed around this time.
November 19th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Hi all, we are looking at different route options at the moment. We look forward to your support on the current route though. Increasing the number of buses is the key to providing a wider service.
November 19th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Congrats on setting up this service. Having spent 2 hours in hellish traffic today I will be trying your offering tomorrow. I would like to echo the requests for an Applewood leg of the journey. I have mailed your feedback address also.
November 19th, 2007 at 9:41 pm
hi can you tell me why you are not going into the housing estates its doesnt make sense to start at the village when there a hundreds of people in the surrouning areas why would i travel to the village then get off and spend more money
November 19th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
going to just the village seems crazy when hundreds off people live in the surrouning estates why would people travel to the village then get off and get another bus is there any reason for this thanks
November 19th, 2007 at 11:56 pm
Just a note on journey time - we’re staying within 35 minutes to the city centre most of the time. Traffic on Custom House Quay sometimes slows us to about 40 or 41 minutes. We’re able to do this because of the very straightforward route we take into the city. The 142 goes a more circuitous way, particularly on the way out of town.
November 21st, 2007 at 1:24 am
If it starts servicing borimhe/rivervalley/applewood/swords manor etc u might as well have a 41c that goes through the port tunnel, save u a couple mins and costs an extra 1.10 compared to the normal bus
November 21st, 2007 at 1:34 am
[Heaven’s] sake. What is the point of people asking the bus to run through every estate in Swords? It defeat’s the purpose. Do you want to pay €3 for a new 41C? idiots
On the student prices. Why not just let students flash a valid student card to get a cheaper fare 2 50 2 euro…
Anyways I’ll be on the bus in the moring. the amount of mongs in swords is depressing.
November 21st, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Hi,
I got your bus for the first time this morning and it was excellent. I was in town within 20mins on the 07.53 service. Thank you for providing such an efficent service. I dont think the bus should go throught the estates as thats going to double the journey time you might as well just stay on the 41. I live in Swords Manor and it only takes a couple of mins to get to the village on the 41 and I dont mind that when it takes such a short time to get to town.
I wish you all the success and will be using your service twice a day from now on!! Jean
November 21st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
You should really have the express service going to applewood as people are not going to get this bus just to the village of swords and then have to walk to applewood

Hi,
Just heard about your service and hope to avail of it tomorrow morning. Great to have an alternative service to the city.
Regards
Liam
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:18 am
Hi,
I agree with not going through the estates as it does defeat the purpose of the quick time into work. I live in Boroimhe and can just walk out to the road across from the Texaco to get the bus - it’s not that long of a walk ! Going through all the estates will mean that the extra cost of the service will be pointless as it will just be another 41x that no one can get on anyway because they are too full.
This is a fantaatic service - please ignore some of the comments re, just another bus on the road into town - are you mad ??????? 15 mins to work today ! My work-life balance has been restored !
Thank you and best of luck for the future…..count me in as a loyal customer for the future….
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:45 am
Hi there
I’m living in Boroimhe and I’m delighted you have started this new service. I’ll give it a try tomorrow morning from opposite the Texaco Garage. If it really only takes 35mins you’ll have a new customer
November 22nd, 2007 at 12:48 pm
In relation to Kev B’s point its not a 41C as 41C’s do not go through the port tunnell!!
November 22nd, 2007 at 1:06 pm
Thanks for your comments! We are trying to find an answer to this that will give the best of all worlds. Service in all the key places, good journey times and acceptable frequency. And we obviously have to make sure it’s commercially viable too.
November 23rd, 2007 at 4:33 pm
hi , why dont you run the service through Holywell to the motorway instead of taken exit off at Airport roudabout . there would be a demand for it with the holywell POP.
November 24th, 2007 at 1:41 am
Holywell has the 142. Swords express is an express service, if it would go through housing estates here and there it would not be an express. use the 41 as a feeder bus to connect you to the swordsexpress.
November 24th, 2007 at 1:46 am
Ive a good idea. Swords express will have 2 shuttle buses picking up around the various estates in swords and dropping them off at the main terminus. Flat fare for shuttle and express bus combined at E3.50.
The Swordsexpress Connex!
‘Your new shuttle to and from the swordsexpress’
November 24th, 2007 at 1:46 am
any jobs goin lads? lol
November 24th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
although it appears a good service it is not good enough to say u are looking into wheelchair accessability. It again shows bad planning, and lack of consideration for equality.
November 26th, 2007 at 11:31 am
I live in Holywell and the 142 only goes 3 times a day, so you can’t exactly call it a bus service. There is a bus stop on the ‘dual carriageway’ that leads to the slip road to the motorway, so you could get onto the M1 just 1 exit before the airport, and there would be a big demand for the bus, given the lack of Dublin Bus service provided in the estate. Also you can take in people from Boroimhe on the way (at Airside) before heading onto Holywell. Its worth considering, as the estate is expanding.
November 26th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
I was asking your drivers this morning about picking up spots on the way home, he said you stop outside AIG bus stop in the IFSC is that correct ?
I am not sure where your bus stops at PWC is there a bus stop there already ?
Fantastic service, I look forward in purchasing a commuter ticket though - this is much handier.
Trish
November 26th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
Anyone tried driving to airside, parking there and getting swords Express into town? Anyone know if you’d get clamped leaving car all day etc?
November 26th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
Dave,
I was thinking of that for a friend of mine who lives in Malahide, she could park the car in Airside as I have never seen a car clamped there. Its a public car park so they can’t clamp you there.
Great place to park !! but keep it quite !! otherwise the whole world and its mother will be parking there !
November 26th, 2007 at 5:29 pm
the service is great, look intp feeders bues for ridgewood as dub dus does not service the estate, and another dus between 7.45 and respect toalan and paddy the 41x drivers who started this and putting there jobs on the line for us!!!
November 26th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Hi.. I would like to know how long time the journey from the city center to swords manor or (somwhere close to swords business campus) And back since I travel the distance every day and spend around 55 minutes each way.
thanks.
November 26th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
Right so Trish, its between you, me and the entire Internet..Lets keep it that way
Need a park and ride facility somehwere..
November 26th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
Attracta,
When we say we are looking into it, let me tell you what we mean - we are trying to figure out how we can pay for it. To properly and meaningfully serve disabled commuters requires a big investment, both on the bus and on the roadside. Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann have received grants to do this work. We haven’t received and by the looks of things won’t be receiving any grants.
November 27th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
Regarding KevB
It is you who are the idiot. The duel carraigway that passes the Pavillions has bus stops on them which are a whole 2 min walk from the village. That same duel carraigeway with its empty bus lane goes all the way to the estuary roundabout. In fact from the Malahide/pavillions roundabout to Applewood is a 5 minute bus journey, with only one set of traffic lights which has the smart traffic flow system set on it .Its not rocket science
Admin - I tried the service for a week and I did find the trip out of town very speedy.Town to swords in 25 mins or thereabouts is a excellent timescale. However after trying it for a week I’ve had to knock it on the head as the 20/25 min walk to applewoood or the even longer 30 min wait for a Dublin bus meant that I was saving no time at all compared to the number 43 and in some case was taking even longer.I wait with baited breath for news of a Glen Ellen /Applewood service
November 27th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Have you considered operating as far as Stephens Green? This would open up Grafton Street and vicinity and would also allow passengers to connect to the southside Luas.
November 27th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
Admin,
I have used the service for a week now and no complaints until today. The 17.09 from Eden Quay did not stop at the PWC stop on the quays. The driver waved as he drove by to indicate he was full..however 1 could see at least 2 seats available towards the back of the bus!! Come on lads, the drivers need to know when the bus is/is not full! Very frustrating.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:44 pm
my wife and myself got your 9-59 bus this morning for the first time. it was great we were in town in 30mins.coming home even better under 25mins. the bus was spotless. driver courteous. there was even a music DvD on the tele. please dont zig zag through estates, hopefully new bus routes, the beauty of the service is the short time it takes in and out of town. again Great Service
December 5th, 2007 at 11:47 am
Is there problems with the evening service?? the last two evenings 6.30 on Monday and 7.15 yesterday were non-existent. I was waiting 35 mins last night for the next bus to arrive. The issue of Quality over Quantity possibly needs to be addressed!!
December 10th, 2007 at 4:33 pm
Hi,
Any chance you looked at weekly commuter tickets yet ?
This would make life so much easier for everybody !
December 11th, 2007 at 1:22 pm
It is great to have a quick option in to work each morning, although I would use the service more often if it did leave from the Swords Manor area. Having said that, I suspect that the bus would be full before it got to Swords Village - perhaps a seperate route from Swords Manor may be the way to go….
On another matter - whilst I appreciate the DVDs on the bus, i think it might be a good idea to get something a little bit more up to date to play; Julio Iglesias, German Christmas Carols from the 70s and a Banjo playing Barber shop quartet is just too much to take in the morning. In all honesty, the radio is fine.
I am appreciating the service and will continue to use, even more so if it extends to Swords Manor.
December 11th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
I was just trying to download a copy of the timetable from the website and cannot seem to find it…. Is there somewhere I should be looking for this?
December 13th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
I have seen many comments about the timetable and the difficulty finding it which I am experiencing at the moment. Are there plans to sort this out or are the comments falling on deaf ears?
December 13th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
The Department of Transport has asked us not to have it on the website and for the moment we have removed it, although we do not accept their decision. The reason for this is that the times are slightly different departing the city centre compared to the licenced times. It appears that another transport operator has made a complaint about this issue. This change was made by us as a result of operational realities about when we could get the vehicles into town. The changes disadvantage absolutely nobody.
December 13th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
Admin
It is incredible how badly we as citizens are served by the Dept of Transport and our politicians!!
As customers of Swords Express what would you advise we could do to object to these pedantic and ridiculous ruling. The fact that you can’t change the timetable to meet the needs of your customers and to try to run a punctual service is mind boggling!!!!
Fair enough… there have to be rules for a competitive transport environment but those rules should put the customer first.
I suppose contacting our local politicians or complaining to the Dept of Transport are the 2 main options we have. Can’t see that bringing much joy.
How about bringing the media on board to highlight this nonsense.
Just as a matter of interest, what do you have to do and how long does it take to apply for timetable change?
December 14th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Yesterday 20.18 bus, going by the bus clock, left at 20.17 but stopped straight away and let a lady on and then the driver got off the bus and proceeded to have a chat with a guy who seemed to be from head office. They talked about the service and route etc. for 5 minutes.
Surely this is a chat for back in the office not when the bus is overdue to leave the stop.
This service only works if the bus leaves on time. Last week one of the buses left 30mins late. Defeats the point of the service.
December 15th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
Yes, you are right re Wed. service. That was me at stop! I’m sorry, I thought the bus was leaving at 20.21. So my fault. Should not have happened.
December 15th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
Your website needs a map diagram with pickups/drop offs clearly mapped. Compared to ‘Dublin bus’ website the bus data is poor.
I missed when I first tried to use it because I went to the wrong side of the pavillions.
December 19th, 2007 at 10:34 am
The Swords Express Rocks!!
December 21st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Again on Monday the 18.27 left at 18.49. When a lady asked was the 18.27 cancelled or was this it, she got a grunt back from the driver about traffic. As the bus proceeded down the quays I took time to notice the traffic was in fact light and coming from the tunnel it was light and going into the tunnel on the far side it was light. Bad excuse.
If a paying customer asks a polite question the least they can expect is a dignified polite reply and not a grunt. It’s part of the job to deal with irate yet polite customers.
So all in all I could have got the Dublin Bus and been in Swords at the same time and with an ignorant driver. 22 minutes late is unacceptable.
December 24th, 2007 at 3:11 pm
Yes you are right about a polite reply for sure. Monday really was a tough day for traffic. You can’t really judge the traffic when you go through, which is really 30 minutes later than when the problem was. I’m sorry you had a bad experience, we will work on making things better.
When something like this happens, please notify us as soon as you can by email if possible and we will do our best to follow up. Once a few days have passed, it’s very difficult to get to the bottom of problems.
January 3rd, 2008 at 6:38 pm
where is the pdf timetable list????????????????
January 6th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
I would love to use this service daily but the walk from Holywell through Airside to the swords express bus stops is far too lonely to do on your own while it is dark in the mornings and evenings. I know I would not feel safe doing that and it would take approx 10 - 15 mins which means i would be better off getting the 43 bus. The 142 is a good service but there are only 3 a day and all in the morning and is always packed in the mornings and I often have to stand. I think if the Swords express went down the slip road by Holywell to the M1 they would get ALOT of new customers. Is this a possibility in the future?? Most people I know drive to portmarnock to get the train as they are not happy with the bus services from holywell.
I once got the Swords express and arranged a lift from airside. I got on at price waterhouse coopers, I found no bus stop so just stood outside and had to run onto the road to flag the driver down. Its not clear where the bus stops here??
I think this is a great service but unfortunatley its not practical for for the thousands of us living in Holywell. I will just live in hope that you might change your mind and change the route to go through airside and off the slip road at Holywell to the M1!

January 7th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Just reading about this new service and looking at the route.
Is there any chance of alternating the routes out of swords. Every other bus to go through Airside Retail Park and down the interchange onto the M1.
There is a huge population in the Holywell Estate badly served by the 142 service (Only 3 buses a day either way).
People using this service are complaining of the overcrowding and the crazy route that it takes home around the city centre then up Amien Street which can add anything up to 40 minutes to the journey home.
I am sure this would be a big success.
January 7th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
this website is terrible. So difficult to find the timetable and why are there comments on every page. You just need one commet page!!!!
The bus is great the website is crap!
January 8th, 2008 at 12:53 am
Congratulations on a brill service…
Like so many others have asked about here is my tuppence worth.
is it not possible to run the service from the top of Swords, then people from applewood and surrounds would be able to avail of it…even if it is only to the estuary roundabout???
a season/prepaid ticket would be advantagous to all…lessens the security risk with cash on board and possibly purchased online so as not to pay commisions to the retailers and it would save us passengers the hassle of having to make sure we have the correct fare since you dont give change!!!
having said that it is a brilliant service and i use the service regularly, (twice a day). I have even ditched my annual DB pass from my employers!!!
keep up the good work !!!!
January 10th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
Cannot find the PDF timetable.Never got one in my letterbox.
January 12th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
As Alan’s query has not been answered, Can you please post your timetable on the site.
January 14th, 2008 at 9:44 am
Where is the bloody Timetable?
January 15th, 2008 at 10:39 am
Looks like a great service. Is there any plans to run one from Lusk? I’ve had my fill of Irish Rail and would love to use this service as an alternative….
January 17th, 2008 at 1:38 am
Where the hell is your timetable? Remove all the useless comments and give us a quick link to the most important questions - when do you depart/arrive.
January 17th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
I would like to suggest that you provide a service from Rivervalley & Boroimhe in the mornings, as the 41c Express bus that serves these areas in the morning at 7:35 & 7:55 are very congested! also if the Dublin Bus annual tickets, that many employers supply, could be used on your service in some way that would also be an advantage.
January 19th, 2008 at 11:07 am
can you publish a clear link to the timetable on your homepage? can t see timetable!
liam.
January 19th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
If anyone is looking for the latest information on the bus timetables, have a look at it on my website.

February 9th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Good bus service but one of the worse websites I have ever encountered, where the hell is the timetable….the links are a resolution not a solution!!
tbh, the site is pointless without an easy accessable timetable.
February 21st, 2008 at 5:27 pm
I’m furiuos with Swords Express! Was delighted when a private service started up and wanted to back yous all the way, however living in Rivervalley the route doesn’t serve me. Instead I take the 8.05 41x that comes up through Rivervalley and uses the tunnel. However we were told this morning that it was the last morning that it would be possible to do this as the 41x was banned from using the service due to Swords express and licencing issues around the same route! Swords Express does not service Rivervalley and by preventing Rivervalley residence from availing of the tunnel is only serving to turn the public opinion against you. Additionally the morning Swords express buses(8.09 & 8.25) are 9 times out of 10 full and if I were to drive to airside I’m not guaranteed a seat. This is not helping your business, it just means those that were served in Rivervalley by the 41x tunnel bus are now going to be sitting in traffic in Ballymun or Whitehall, and the likelihood is that there frustration will be directed towards Swords Express!!
March 4th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
any chance you can travel up the Forest Road and turn right into Boroimhe as this would service all the people living in River Valley? that would be great. Dave
March 6th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Does the bus lease from outside the pavillion shopping centre every morning or is the first stop Penny’s bit confused at the post above. Have been getting it at Penny’s but was hoping to get from Pavillion as its often quite full by the time it gets round to Pennys.
March 15th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
I have just browsed through all the above comments and my god! How lazy can people get? So many people complaining about the fact that the bus leaves from Main St. Come on folks! Get the thumb out and walk or cycle less than a mile it wont bloody kill you.
Something good finally happens to this town and everyone has to bitch about it.
March 20th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Hello ,
I live in Whitehall near Whitehall church not too far from the port tunnel entrance. Do you have a bus stop near me? I would be interested as I work near OConnell Bridge.
Many Thanks
David Meehan
March 31st, 2008 at 9:34 pm
Hey!
Just a quick question, say for example if the port tunnel is closed for the whole day or part of, do yourselves at Swords Express have an alternative route for the buses to travel? If you dont you porbally should think about putting one in place as i am sure there will be more issues regarding tunnel safety or crashes which will result in the tunnel being closed.
April 1st, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Hello admin,
I’ve been living in the back end of Swords for almost 5 years and was almost getting used to having to get up at 6.30am in order to beat the traffic to get to any decent commuter service to the city centre. I had heard wonderful things about the Swords express and decided to try it. My first day yesterday was great, I got on the 7.30am bus at Airside and was in work by 8am and was amazed at the great service. Today, I did the same as yesterday and the 7.30am bus didn’t show up at Airside until 7.50am and guess what, it was already full. So I had to wait and see if there was going to be room on the next one or find an alternative route to the city. It’s my 2nd day using the service and I’m already annoyed. I sincerely hope that this is an isolated case but the jury is still out on how marvelous this service really is.
I have one other point - do people not understand the concept of an orderly queue? I await the day one commuter attacks another because of blatant disregard for someone else who might have been queueing before them…
I rest my case.

I have used the service for going into town for meeting up with friends over my hoidays but i was heading in to college this morning and i was in for 10, if i was to get the normal bus i would have to have gotton one around 8.30 or as i often do get a lift to malahide station and get the train in, but this morning i got up at 8.45 and got the 9.15 and was in college at 9.50. i think that 3 euro each way is a bit exepensive each way and as a student dosh is a bit tight but hell ill pay it if it means i get a comfy seat in the morning, not stuffed onto a smelly dunlin bus nearly flying off my seat each time the bus goes around a corner or being squashed like a sardine on the train!! and also if it means extra snoozing time after a late night erm studying of course not anything else i aint complaining, overall great service :D:D:D:D

I’m curious, is there a Swords express 7.30am bus to the city centre in the morning? I was at the bus stop at the Texaco garage before 7.30am yesterday morning. A bus came at 7.50am, it was full, so everyone at the stop had to wait for the next bus. I’m assuming the next one was the 7.45am one. Similarly this morning a bus passed the Texaco garage at 7.45am also full. Was it the 7.30am bus? Is there a 7.30am bus? If so, what has happened it?

Hi,
Please, please bring the service up to Holywell, we are the worst served estate of anyone in Swords.
It is a 25-30 minute walk to the CIE bus stop and God knows when they are going to put one in the estate…
Please -you would make a LOT of money!!
And it would be my pleasure to give the money to anyone other than CIE !!
come on! Get on up to Holywell !!

I have moved into Holywell and am currently walking from their to Boroimhe which is 30 mins. Exercise good but if raining I hate to think. I work in Whitehall area and the only option I have is the 41 which arrives full and this is not a reliable way to work. I choose to leave the car at home to try and cut down on some of the damage been done to our environment. If City Centre is to become pedestrianised there will be a lot more commuters to town.

yes i agree, please can you service the holywell estate with a bus service as we are in terrible need of any service and it would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any plans to provide a service through Applewood/Glen Ellen. Like all areas in Swords it is very badly serviced by Dublin Bus, but the DB service is pratically non-existent in the morning. I have used the Swords Express from Swords Village to the city centre on many occasions and the service is excellent and reliable, the buses and clean and comfortable. I would gladly pay the higher fare for the better service.

having read the threads about the service i would like to know why the services stops so early at night? and do you do a family price for me and my three chrildren? if you want me to leave my car then why dont you go up to glenn ellen or are you just cherry picking the routes and please dont just blame dublin bus give a real reason instead of blaming the opposition it make you sound like the useless people that run this country

Tom,
The service stops so early at night because there is no demand for later services. There aren’t that many people on the last service.
We would love to run the route up to Glen Ellan tomorrow. If we did run up there, we might be able to go later at night, because it would increase the demand.
We can’t run a route there because we can’t get a decision on our licence application, even though we have been waiting seven months. We have had to go to the High Court to move this issue forward.
Family ticket is not something we have given much thought to yet, and that may be a mistake on our part.
Antoin.
