We will provide a full service every day over Christmas except for the following:

- St. Stephen’s Day (Wednesday 26 December)
- New Year’s Day (Tuesday 1 January 2008).
All fares from the following days will go to local Swords Primary Schools so we especially encourage you to use the Swords Express those days:
- Sunday 23 December
- Saturday 29 December
- Sunday 30 December
We hope you will help make these the busiest weekends of the year so we can make a big contribution to schools in Swords!
Swords Express Christmas Present
December 18th, 2007
We thought about sending cards or giving out freebies, but decided that the best way to thank the people of Swords for their support over the last month is through supporting the children of Swords. We are going to donate all the cash fares we collect for three days to the primary schools of Swords. We are contributing all the fares for the following days: 23 December (next Sunday), 29 December and 30 December.
Major improvement to weekday rush-hour service from city; change to Swords-city service
December 12th, 2007
Beginning tomorrow (Thursday 13 December 2007) we are modifying our timetable to ensure that our rush-hour buses from the city have plenty of time to reach Eden Quay. This is in response to serious problems over the past week which resulted in long delays for large numbers of passengers travelling home to Swords.
This change will also impact on passengers travelling from Swords.
Good weather, bad weather, Christmas
December 10th, 2007
Transport is basically all about keeping on schedule. We take timekeeping very seriously, and our customers do too. When we fall off schedule, we get phone calls looking to see what’s going on, and rightly so. So what makes us go off-schedule - simple answer is traffic. There are a few things that cause the traffic to go crazy in Dublin.
Another week on the Swords Express
November 30th, 2007
We’ve had an interesting Express week. A lot of good things have happened. There’s been great coverage in the newspapers, especially the local ones that really count, some radio on Today FM and good passenger numbers. Most important, customers are pretty satisified with the service, and that’s what’s really important.
There are some issues though, and we are happy to tell you how we are addressing them. Read the rest of this entry »
Swords Express loves Old Age Pensioners
November 23rd, 2007
OAPs know it’s important not to waste time. That’s part of why Swords Express accepts the Social Welfare old age pensioner (OAP) pass and other social welfare passes. Please be sure to tell any senior citizens you know in the Swords area and get them a copy of our times if they need it (although the leaflet should have dropped through every letterbox in Swords by today or tomorrow.
Evening Herald tests the Swords Express promise
November 21st, 2007
Moving past the now-gutted Point Depot it was clear that it would take a multi-vehicle pile-up to stop us getting to our destination on time. Crossing the Liffey in jig time, the Swords Express dropped me at a bus stop just outside Tara Street Dart Station at 14:33, a journey time of just 22 minutes.
(Quote from article by Conor Feehan in yesterday’s Evening Herald.)
Keeping the Promise
November 20th, 2007
Our timetable (download PDFversion for easy printing) is our promise. Part of the reason we designed our route the way we did was so we can keep the promise as well as we could, whilst keeping prices reasonable (remember we don’t have state investment or a state subsidy).
They said it couldn’t be done (well one commenter said so anyway on our timetables page) but we kept the core promise of Swords Express on the first day. We managed to get around the route regularly in the target time of 35 minutes to town, 30 minutes out. Quite often we were able to do it even faster. The odd time we were a bit slower in the heavy rain, but not by much. Read the rest of this entry »
Swords Express running from 19 November
November 15th, 2007
Swords Express will operate from 19 November, with the first service leaving for the city for the Pavillions Shopping Centre at 0634. Check out the timetables page or download the PDF leaflet with all the details in it and a map showing the stops.
We are looking forward to your support on the first day. We expect the services from Swords at 07.37 , 07.53, 08.09 and 08.24 in particular to be popular. The first pick-up point will be at the Dublin Bus bus stop outside Penney’s (Pavillions Shopping Centre) on Dublin Street.
The fare is €3 one-way and you can pay on the bus. We think this is pretty good value for a rapid, fully-seated service. We don’t receive any subsidies from the taxpayer.
Port Tunnel Petitioners
November 5th, 2007
There was a petition during the summer regarding express bus services in the Dublin Port Tunnel (see this news report). Does anybody know who organized this petition? I am trying to track them down so that I can get their feedback about our new service.
