Port Tunnel delays
February 27th, 2008
The Port Tunnel is closed in both directions and this is going to cause major disruption during the rush hour (although we’ve been able to operate a basic service all day). We plan to deal with this by sending out two extra buses. We do not expect to be exactly on schedule, but we do plan to have enough capacity to get all our customers home.
We don’t know what the exact problem is in the port tunnel, other than that it’s to do with cameras. It sounds like it’s a general systems issue rather than an issue hitting just one camera or one particular part of the tunnel.

Yes, all back to normal. Just chaos on the road north of the river this evening, no matter what way you went.

would it be possible to have the SwordsExpress start its journey in Glen Ellan.I notice that it waits on the road near Woodies before going to the Pavillions and it could do this in Glen Ellan saving people a walk.

hey!
Just a question, should the Port Tunnel be closed due to an accident or closed for safety is there an alternative route which the Swords Express can take or are you purely reliant on the Port Tunnel to get you through town? If you dont, you probally should think of one as more the likely the Port Tunnel will be closed quite often in the future. If you do need sum help in looking at alternative routes, i would be more than happy to help out.
Yours,
Richard
